It was an up-and-down stint, that's for sure. I like CV and I hope he finds a more congenial spot.

stupid stupid stupid, dont want to keep him fine but get at least a second round pick for him or package him with a 2nd round pick for young talent not playing like orlando tucker maybe, if it does not work out you still have lost the same.

Hopefully the money is saved for Sessions.

Begs the question of how much they think Sessions is worth? Maybe someone will do them a favor and offer 4yr/12m? If they are forced to confront a deal for more than 4m annually, I don't see any way they do that.

In CV's case, I'm sure they had to be worried that they'd be hamstrung waiting for CV to sign or not to sign, and figured he'd get at least MLE x3 years from someone, and that they wouldn't match that.

No way they go into the season with Ersan and the Piston as 1/2. There has to be another move afoot?

Either way they could S&T him, but if CV signed an offer sheet first we can't then broker a deal. Teams will offer more freely as we can't match. Teams usually don't barter a reasonable contract because we could simply match and reap the rewards of their labor.

If as a team an S&T was your goal you would have offered the QO, waited for a team to contact you to see if you could work out a deal or they would have had to willingly overpay.

Usually an S&T occurs when player A wants to go to team B and is unwanted by team A, but Team A is willing to make sure that player gets the size contract he wants that normally would not fit under his new teams cap and gets compensation for that service.

My feeling is that while this player has mixed reviews on just about every Bucks board hee a great offensive player and as an asset seems more valuable than simply letting him go.

I agree with the above, and I thank you for working through the machinations of how it works. If they figured he'd get $6m x 5 then I guess they feel like they can do better for $30m. I guess they had better have someone come through (JA or the Piston), or go and get someone - or they're going to get killed by the fans and the press.

CV's offense is inconsistent and not a post threat, his defense is obviously soft. He does have talent, on an inconsistent basis, so he's really a luxury for us and even many other teams. When we got Amir couple wks ago, I knew CV will be gone. And I don't think he will get anything over $6M a year. The best teams that fit CV's game is the contenders such as Lakers, Cavs.
