I Don't know if overated is the right word. I don't know too many people that think he is still on a level with even a few years agos playing ability, but he is better than Tavaris jackson or Sage Rosenfels and will be until he needs a walker.

This whole fiasco is what is overated though. I have never seen a situation in which the resolution is an ending that both sides seemingly wanted that has fans just beside themselves. Whatever the timeline and whatever the stupid remarks made in the media by both sides, the simple fact is the Packers didn't really ever want him back despite posturing after the fact, and Favre didn't really want to come back after it appeared that they didn't want him back. The rest is media over exposure.

Everybody is sick of the drama and BS but very little of it has anything to do with the participants. Sports entertainment has crossed into the arena of teh National Enquirer type tabloid trash. Perfect example: For awhile I knew who Tony Romo was dating, it was even reported when they broke up on Sportscenter. Why in the hell do I know who Tony Romo is dating regadless of how famous he and she is. I don't care, I simply don't. Its the same not caring that leads me to question the existance of Channels like E!, who watches that shit and why do they care?

Terrell Owens has a show on E! I know because it was reported on Sportscenter, mind you I don't care but can we please stop feeding these douchebags. Does Chad Johnson, err excuse me Chad Ocho-Cinco change his name if the media doesn't wet themselves over all his asinine antics, probably not. When I saw the story I thought hmm douchebag. I mean why Spanish, just why, hes not latino. Why 8, 5 not 85. Is it stupidity? Or does he not care?

Its why I have to wait like an hour to watch an actual sports highlight of say the Bucks when they are on. That and the Bucks are terrible, but can we maybe just make an E! Sports channel so I don't have to sit through it. Maybe just call it Sports Douchebag channel. TO's agent can be the host, any NFL receiver can have his own show, guys like Ron Artest, Beasly can have a career after basketball.

And Michael Beasley really i mean really???? You are going to post a pic of new tattoo which says , and I can't make this shit up, Supercool Beas across his back in huge letters, and not put the bag of weed away in plain view on the table. Thanks man, now I'll have to watch a million spins on your somewhat disappointing season and your love of the herb, are they connected tune in to sportscenter. I mean if you are going to be a major douchebag at least do a little housecleaining first. Why are all teh NBA players who smoke the tree that stupid about it. I know Football players are smoking and outside of Bam Morris 100 pound drugbust I can't remember the last guy busted there, but the NBA list is long. And you'd figure a league which has guys changing their names to 8 5 in spanish there would be stupidity running rampant.

Matt, overrated to me means a guy who's biggest accomplishments over the last 10 years is staying healthy and deciding to come back for another year, while his worst means absolute complete melt downs in the playoffs...is then treated like Elvis. I think its absolutely the right word. The playoffs is the place where greatness is measured. People want to talk about greatness...lets look at his playoffs the past ten season. Overrated. His Superbowl and 3 MVPs came when he played on a stacked team last century. I don't care how many come from behind regular season victories you have against the Detroit Lions and the Cincinnati Bengals. Show me what you got in crunch time. Too many chances to make that greatness statement that end in complete flops. I mean who throws 6 interceptions in a playoff game to a team known for their offense? Sorry.

When I said 'he sucks' I didn't mean he hasn't had a great career...but I just think he's way overrated compared to his actual 'greatness'. Stat wise you can't take anything away from the guy.

That 6 interception game is like a black hole in my memory. I was on a cruise ship in the carribean, and had pretty much forgotten the games were even on. probably due more to the open bar than my lack of interest but at any rate I walked into a sportsbar on the boat, because it was the most convenient spot to get a beer and looked up to see Favre tossing a pick, and about 100 St Louis fans erupted. I thought you know I am going to drink this somewhere else. Didn't watch the rest of the game, or even look at a box score forgot about it totally til now. Thanks to favres performance I won $1600 in the casino though so thats something.

Its definitely hard to argue with his performance being poop in the Giants game too. A terrible pick that 100% lost that game.

I always felt like offensively speaking we put too much faith in Brett alone, he had help most of the time but never had a star to run with offensively. Always thought we had a Giant vagina where this states GMs are concerned. Never take chances should be the state motto, I guess. Might be why most fans are upset really, the lasting memories of brett will be poorly executed playoff games, instead of the earier playoff success.

Either way I don't watch as much sports and highlights as I used to because I just don't care about the sideshow stuff. I hate the way this stuff gets covered now.

While I wouldnt say that Favre sucks, I also would say he isnt the quarterback that the media makes him up to be either. Yes, he is 3-0, but also beat some cupcakes of the league. That last catch was a great catch by the reciever, and for the reciever to get his feet down to keep it in bounds. We will see how good Favre gets when he has to play some games outside in the cold weather. What I am saying is, I wouldnt annoint just yet.
