Varejao opts out; will be unrestricted FA....
Just saw it on Sports Center - Anderson Varejao will opt out of his contract w/the Cavs and test the Free Agent market.
Frankly, I'm surprised and a little disappointed to see that there aren't already like five new topics on here talking about how the Bucks should trade away Jennings' rights and Ramon Sessions, just eat Redd's contract and go with a lineup of Bogut, Varejao, Ilyasova, Mbah a Moute, and Ridnour and ride that all the way to the title this year....
Because, after all, Varejao is a guy who "plays the game the right way," "is a real Scott Skiles-type of player," and "has a real blue-collar mentality that reflects the attitude of the Bucks and the city they play in," etc....
C'mon guys, you don't wanna let your Champion down!

I'd rather take Birdman over Varejao because Birdman is the best defensive FA PF this summer and he might be even cheaper than Varejao at $3-5 million/yr value. I just dont know how much money we have to pursue a FA this summer.
I agree we should put a defensive specialist next to Bogut but don't think Ersan and prince can start together, actually I dont think either of them is a starter material yet. What I can see of this lineup is turnovers, turnovers, turnovers.

Varejao on the Bucks, I may puke. Can't stand him. I am enamored with Amir, would like to see him get a chance to block shots. Varejao is a cry baby flopper!!!!

Yeah, I'd want Birdman way before Varejao. In fact, I've never really understood what the big deal is about Varejao. But then, I'm anti-longhair, so I'm probably biased.
